90% of violence is perpetrated by men - often by men in a woman's personal sphere, such as her husband or her boss. Thinking that women can always or should even have to defend themselves is naive and also victim-blaming. You're avoiding the actual problem, and making women responsible if something bad happens to them and they weren't able to defend themselves. Women surgeons get sexually harassed and assaulted WHILE assisting in medical procedures. Do you think they should carry a gun into the OR to prevent that?

And actually being assaulted is only one small fraction of the problem. If you have daughters, you ought to already be aware of all the other things that they are facing and will face as women in this culture that are harmful, demeaning, and unfair to them - things that a gun won't solve, but that not tolerating objectification and misogyny around you will absolutely impact.

The fact that shitty women also exist is a deflection. For the most part, they aren't committing most of the rapes and murders in the world. For the most part, they don't have the societal power and entrenched structural bias to harm men in the same way that they are being harmed. Did it every occur to you that these younger women are reacting to that?

You asked what men can do and I told you. That doesn't mean there's nothing for women to do, but that wasn't the question at hand. If you can't be bothered to care about that, then it says a lot about you ...

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint. I do not feel ashamed. I'm your hell, I'm your dream, I'm nothing in between.
