"A loss of dominance in cultural power" is exactly what this is all about. White people and White men, in particular, are used to being able to say offensive things and getting away with it. One of the rules of a patriarchal dominance hierarchy is that those with more social power get to abuse those with less, with no consequences, and the abused are supposed to take it stoicly - their only recourse is to abuse someone with even less social power. When that gets interrupted, it feels to people who are entrenched in that hierarchy like something is off, something isn't taking place the way it "should." It rocks the status quo and that feels bad to some people. Which is why this OP is so inconsistent and full of holes - because it's not built on logic or even thought, it's built around an emotional reaction to a perceived loss of cultural power.

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint. I do not feel ashamed. I'm your hell, I'm your dream, I'm nothing in between.
