A lot of people who go into psychology/psychiatry do it to further investigate their own issues. I think he's a prime example of that, but rather than truly do a deep dive into his own wounds and shadow self (like any good Jungian ought to do) he's instead found a way to externalize it so it's the fault of everyone else - feminists, vegans, SJWs, etc. Then he peddles that intellectual sounding framework of what is actually insecurities and anger at loss of privilege to other men who have the same fears and issues. It's both highly lucrative, and highly self-affirming. Why on earth would he stop? He definitely is a fascinating guy, but kind of in the same way that Trump is a fascinating character - they both prey on the fears that loss of unearned privilege drives up in some people, and even though they are both clearly highly problematic characters who regularly contradict themselves, they so appeal to a certain kind of person on an emotional level that this is simply overlooked.

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint. I do not feel ashamed. I'm your hell, I'm your dream, I'm nothing in between.
