A potential life shouldn't have more rights than an actual human person and there is absolutely no logical reason that it ever should. Plus there is no other place in US law where a person's body autonomy does not supersede the right to save the life of another - even a child. You can't even harvest organs from a dead body to save someone else without prior consent.

And beyond this, abortion is not going to stop, only safe abortion. If you want to see less of it, you ought to be putting your energy into lobbying for comprehensive sex education, and cheap and readily available contraception because your philosophical opining has no bearing on the actual real world and it never will.
