A while back a guy I don't know tried to discredit something I'd written (probably about anthropology) by calling me "wine mommy" since he couldn't do it based on anything substantive. I told him, "That's Dr. Wine Mommy to you" even though I am not in fact a Ph.D. You are so right on track that his sort of belittling of women (for doing what men do as much as they want and it's cool) combined with failing to address the needs that drive all this are all a giant societal FAIL.
