About 1.7% of the population is intersex (about the same number as people with red hair). They may have chromosomes, hormones, or physiology that is commonly found in both males and females. Are you proposing to force those people, as well as the other 1.2 million American adults who identify as non-binary to pick one or the other because you can't be bothered to be considerate and address someone in the way in which they prefer?
