Actually, super helpful so thanks for taking the time to tell me about it. It sometimes blows my mind just how entitled many men feel - to women's bodies, to their time, to their attention. They very literally think on some level (mostly subconscious, but still) that women are on earth for their pleasure and enjoyment. And I get that this was an overt belief until about 50 years ago that even women's magazines largely supported, but still . . .
Man, I like Pinker even less now than I did before. Gender essentialism is so obviously an invention of patriarchy and so blatantly antiscientific. What a dope! You don't even have to go into the actual science - just look around you at the world, and how many women are now doing "male" jobs and doing them well because they've finally be allowed to. Then of course is my favorite question - do you really believe that Ru Paul, Pee Wee Herman, Donald Trump, and Mikhail Baryshnivok are all essentially the same guy because they are men? Really??
