Actually, there are tons of restrictions to free speech in America -something you don’t seem to be aware of — genius. Why don't you educate yourself about that because your knowledge of it seems rather lacking. Libel and slander are both illegal in the US, as are Fighting Words, Incitement, and False Statements of Fact. Hmm, sounds kind of familiar . . .
First let’s take a look at the places where the government has the right to limit your free speech:
Incitement — The Supreme Court held in Brandenburg v. Ohio that “advocacy of the use of force” is unprotected when it is “directed to inciting or producing imminent lawless action” and is “likely to incite or produce such action.” The element of clear and present danger was later added in to clarify this ruling.Incitement to suicide is also not protected speech.
False Statements of Fact — there are actual four distinct subcategories of this exception. Libel and slander fall under one of these, and negligent false statements another, both potentially leading to civil liability. False statements made under penalty of perjury are also not protected speech.
Fighting Words — Personally abusive language which is commonly recognized as such and which can reasonably be expected to lead to a “breach of the peace” is not protected speech. Things that a reasonable person would consider to be hyperbole are one exception to this. Threats of “social ostracism” or “politically motivated boycotts” do not meet the criteria for fighting words and are protected speech.
In addition . . .
As my friend James Finn pointed out: "The normal procedure in a case like this one would be to issue an international arrest warrant for the accused. Extradition would be unlikely, but the accused would have to mind their p's and q's rather carefully when traveling internationally.
They would not be able to transit France or French possessions, nor would they be able to travel to a set number of nations which have liberal criminal-cooperation agreements with France. So, you know, no French Caribbean vacations, no French Polynesia, etc. — and even travel to a handful of countries in Europe would be highly problematic considering the arrest warrants."
You can't abuse people with impunity just because they are from a different country. You can't slander and /or libel them as a matter of US law. Try to keep up here, dude. You're falling behind on the reality segment.
