After 30 years of marriage to my dad, when he passed away and my mom eventually found another partner, she opted not to live with him. They were together for 22 years (until he too passed), each maintaining their own home. She did not want to have to cook for him and do his laundry, etc. — all the things that most people in their age group would still expect of marriage. I’m not surprised at all to see this trend.
