After many years of thinking about it, I'm now convinced this is the only thing that will actually move the needle. Violence and rape culture are not really violations of our norms - they are extreme expressions of mainstream masculine norms. Women have their part to play in allowing these norms to shift, but the actually shifting is going to have to come from men working together to make that happen.
