"And as I look further down into our collective history, it becomes very clear that men have always been called away" -this is only an archetypal pattern within the context of patriarchy however, so that is a relevant factor worth mentioning. It's only been going on for less than 3% of human history.

Did you miss the large segment I included on the Aka, who spend just as much time with their new born (and older) children as women do? Supposing that men are somehow just not constitutionally suited to home and childcare is hooey! Millions of American men do it every day, many of them as primary caregivers. And in egalitarian cultures such as those of hunter-gatherers, men spend significantly more time with infants and children than men in the West. Culture is a factor, demonstrably so. Why on earth would you excuse irresponsbile behavior by some men as somehow unavoidable?

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint. I do not feel ashamed. I'm your hell, I'm your dream, I'm nothing in between.
