And pretty much universally the folks who would actually say that with a straight face do not believe in the right of Satanists’ sincere beliefs to be honored, or even Muslim’s sincere beliefs. Only theirs — because they are the “right” beliefs. This is the core flaw in their argument. “My beliefs have value because they are the only true ones, and yours don’t because they are wrong.”

Many, many people used to sincerely believe that black people were inferior and that interracial marriage was horrendous. And yet, we don’t still have laws to support those beliefs… not anymore, at least. The right to disenfranchise others and curtail their rights based on your “beliefs” should have been made illegal decades ago.
