Any ism that blames all the people in a particular class is misguided. And, sometimes the term men is used as a shorthand to indicate patriarchal and androcentric society. It’s imprecise and I personally try to always say “some men” or use other qualifiers that give latitude for individual behavior, but I also understand the real fatigue and disgust with having a constant backlash for just asking for basic human and civil rights.
