As a tall woman, I heartily endorse this, although I did ultimately marry a man who is taller than I am. In heels, sometimes I am taller than he is, and he doesn't mind, nor do I. I also dated men who were shorter than I was along the way. This notion of a "provider" and "protecter" is less than 10K years old. Still, we are deeplyn bought into it in our culture. I think patriarchy casts men in that mold, but even more so that women should be small and unobtrusive. They should blend into the background where they are to support and nurture without asking for anything for themselves. That is the real problem!
