As an adopted child, I have to concur with this. My biological parents have never had any place in my life whatsoever and are functionally irrelevant to it - unless they've gifted me with some kind of congenital disorder.

The whole Italy things is pretty concerning though - and also disruptive to so called "blind adoptions" where the biological parents are not identified for their own privacy or preference.
