As I pointed out to your somewhere else, the Equimundo study took place in 2017. The term Man Box had already been in constant usage by that time for over 30 years. If you'd actually read the story by Mark Greene that I'd linked to you on the origin of the term and the way that it informed early "men's work" you would already know that.

Being all bent out of shape about this is just another manifestation of NotAllMen shit. Yes, pretty much all men are in the Act Like a Man Box to at least some extent, even if they have worked to transcend it, because gender indoctrination begins at birth and bombards us all constantly. It lives in our subconscious minds. That's not men's fault. It's not saying that men are bad humans as you seem to feel on a very visceral level. It's saying that the culture that we have is responsible for this, and as members of this culture we have both the opportunity and the responsibility to shift that toward something that harms people less, including harms men less.

And, if you aren't participating in doing that, if instead you are turning a blind eye in order to maintain the status quo and acting as a bystander to the harm, then you are indeed complicit in that harm. There's no two ways about it. We have the culture that we allow for and tolerate.

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint. I do not feel ashamed. I'm your hell, I'm your dream, I'm nothing in between.
