As you may already be aware, James and I have a lovely relationship with a woman that we pay to spend time with. We love her and she loves us, but the boundaries that have been established include dollars for time spent. This does not detract from the real affection that is in play. Here’s more about that:
It feels very egalitarian to us — not like we wield power over her. She has plenty of options if she didn’t want to spend time with us. She’s in complete control of what we do and don’t do together and her boundaries are stricter than what we have for ourselves, and that’s fine.
This is a very empowered and happy woman. She loves what she does and is one of the most savvy business women I’ve ever met. Who am I to denigrate that? We honor and respect her profession just as we honor and admire her as a human being.
Trafficking other human being is never OK, but consensual sex work is an entirely different thing. Not being able to discern the difference between the two is paternalistic and purposefully blind.
