As you've said, murder is not the only kind of violence and even with the larger raw numbers of that, most straight, white, middle-class Christian men are not in any significant danger of murder. Other men, in other contexts and situations are more likely to suffer that, whereas straight, white, middle-class Christian women are not spared the sort of ubiquitous level of needing to be alert and sometimes afraid that all women face.
