Assuming that likable people are White Hats and that people who do bad things clearly wear Black Hats is both naive and harmful to actual justice. Of course, any allegations should be rigorously investigated, but it's not like it's so shocking or unusual for men in positions of power to try to misuse that in sexually inappropriate ways. It's certainly way, way, way more common than false accusations.
