Because she won the popular vote by a huge margin - close to 3 million. That doesn't mean I think she's necessarily the best candidate but there frankly aren't a lot of good choices. I don't see Harris as viable. There's still too much unconscious bias in America, even amongst supposed progressives. People vote with their emotions/biases and not their brains, and they overwhelmingly vote for the most "establishment" candidate - despite talk of wanting change. The fact that so few people like Mayor Pete is evidence of that.

There is now an entire wing of the Republican Party that once voted for Trump and now actively opposes him so that's a good sign, but will it be enough? It's going to be an interesting race, for sure.
