Because they've been indoctrinated into believing that vaccines are both universally safe and effective - which they are not. The push back that I've gotten for my comments on this story is evidence of how people are treated if they dare to ask too many questions.

It's not exactly a logic-filled response to say "Well the information is readily available" while simultaneously living in a culture that shames and vilifies anyone who is too interested in that information or who asks too many questions. Of course most people don't bother to read that or seek that information because they've been coerced to see that as something only crackpots do. They've been taught to blindly follow what their doctor recommends for them without question.

Granted, the only vaccines I've gotten recently were for Covid and subsequent boosters but I do not recall getting such a VIS form when I did. It was a short consent form that didn't go much past "swelling at the injection site." Maybe I'm misremembering but it doesn't change the fact that we live in a culture that actively and vehemently discourages any questioning of what has been determined to be best for public health even if it harms some people.

I think we can and absolutely should do better on that front. If that makes me one of "those problem people" then so be it.

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint. I do not feel ashamed. I'm your hell, I'm your dream, I'm nothing in between.
