Before we moved here the doctor that I most often consulted for both me and my son was a board-certified Integrative Medicine doctor. He was the top of his class in med school but had also learned about other healing possibilities — a path he had started on when they wanted to operate on his 3-year-old daughter to put tubes in her ears. “There must be other possibilities” he thought and so he went out and learned about them and studied them in and healed his daughter without surgery. There are times when allopathic medicine is completely appropriate but pharmaceuticals kill and harm many people each year, even when taken as prescribed, and mostly the FDA and the medical establishment don’t recognize that.

I’d really like to see more medical professionals trained in both allopathic and integrative healing, but there’s less money in that just as there is less in promoting actual wellness instead of responding to illness.
