Blah blah blah yourself. The things you've said are meaningless to your premise (that women want and need to be protected by men). If you are actually a war history enthusiast you'd know that what primarily keeps women out of active fighting is men/patriarchy. Women have always been warriors since the beginning of time and in modern history have constantly been advocating to be allowed to hold any position which they can fulfill the requirements of. This is how we've finally gotten to a place where pretty much all combat positions are open to women - because women want to do that and have advocated for the right to do so (which is antithetical to your premise). A blanket statement like "few are fit enough to do so" just makes me LOL! I'll bet this 70 year old woman could wipe the floor with you.

"My original role model was Lt. Ripley in Aliens. However these days, she has been joined by the uber-competent film sheroes like Emily Blunt as Rita Vrataski in Edge of Tomorrow.

Vrataski is my kind of hero. That is the warrior I would like to model myself after and tried hard while on active duty. I was in too early for combat. These days, there are real Rita Vrataskis coming through Special Forces training. My kind of woman. Serious sheroes, like the female fighter pilots I met when I did a speech for Veteran’s Day at Target a few years back.

In the movie, Cruise’s character falls for Vrataski. In real life, as in mine, men rape such characters, in the time-honored statement of patriarchal “who the hell do you think you are?”

"Trung Trac, along with her younger sister Nhi, quickly assembled an army consisting mainly of women warriors, and in a few weeks expelled the Chinese from the expanses of their native land. Later on, her armies were joined by the forces of freed lords along the way but there was one curious detail – it is said that all men were dressed as women warriors as a sign of respect."

You know what, most men don't want to fight wars either. Pretending like men are somehow designed to eagerly and bravely protect and women just aren't is a fairy tale. It's not born out by ancient or current history. Give it a rest, as I said before, it's tired.

"We know that killing is difficult for most humans, in that they have to be indoctrinated into it in order to become effective soldiers, and even then, there are countless stories of the ways that even soldiers in wartime do things to avoid killing. “The majority of soldiers, although well-armed, never kills. During World War II, only one out of every five American soldiers actually fired at the enemy.

Similarly, it has been calculated that during the Vietnam War, American soldiers fired over 50,000 bullets for every enemy soldier killed. Most bullets ended up in the air.”

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint. I do not feel ashamed. I'm your hell, I'm your dream, I'm nothing in between.
