But the fact remains, that most men are not speaking up about it or doing anything to indicate that they do not approve. Overwhelmingly, the voices that are raised right now are those of women. Demonizing men as a group doesn't accomplish anything, but I do think it's valid to point out that a lot of men are pretty complacent about this subject. They think it doesn't really affect them, and while they are happy to support choice in the abstract, they also aren't doing much to actively support that sticking around. Men who consider themselves to be progressives are not standing up and making their voices heard, and that is a part of the problem. Most men I know can't even be bothered to "like" posts about the fear and anger than women are feeling right now - much less share them or write their own.

I don't know what the answer is, but if women are upset about this, I think they have every right to be. For the most part, the only men I see really engaged with this topic are gay - because they understand that the erosion of these rights will lead to a slippery slope that erodes their rights even further as well. The fact that a lot of women are also to blame for where we are today does not erase the fact that too many men are standing quietly on the sidelines when we need them right here beside us caring about this fight and indicating that caring by actually speaking up.

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint. I do not feel ashamed. I'm your hell, I'm your dream, I'm nothing in between.
