By sociological (academic) definition a patriarchy is a dominance based hierarchy with men having more societal power than women. That's not a definition that is up for debate. If you endorse that as a good thing, there's not going to be anything I can likely say to change that. If you think the best, most empowering way to be in the world is to constantly perform societal norms that other people have determined for you in order to gain status in a pecking order that is constantly shifting and which always requires your constant vigilance to "eat or be eaten" then I feel quite sorry for you.

There's nothing wrong with hierarchies that are earned by merit, but ones that are established and maintained by violence and ruthlessness based on immutable traits such as gender, race, and sexuality are reprehensible - and that's what patriarchy is and does. Again, if you think that's fine, then I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree.

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint. I do not feel ashamed. I'm your hell, I'm your dream, I'm nothing in between.
