Dating shouldn't be one-sided but the fact remains that many men are completely put off by a woman who appears too assertive. In short, patriarchal norms hurt men too. We all ought to give that shit up for everybody's benefit. But, whoever asks the other out should plan the date and pay for it.
I've been married for over 30 years, so yeah, we sometimes still go on dates to museums (we saw a truly amazing Van Gogh exhibit recently where the paintings were projected onto the walls and floor in a kind of animated movie) but we also go to dinner and movies and other things like that.
This morning we took a shower together with a Shower Orange. I highly recommend it.
