It's really doubtful that you did know that, because as a society we don't care about that stuff. Sure, there's lip service about deadbeat dads, but mostly keeping children alive and well is considered a woman's job, and if she can't keep the dad around to do his part, that must be her fault. That's the primary narrative out there.
