Ding, ding, ding, ding! This is exactly what's going on. They don't like being called out by someone who is supposed to be lower on the rungs of the dominance hierarchy. And in the case of white women (I'm doubtful if you got any of these comments from non-white women), they tend to be closely aligned with the hierarchy status of the men in their lives, much more than any other demographic of women. That's a big part of why so many white women voted for Trump, a man who strongly stands for the return of the "traditional" social hierarchy of 50+ years ago when those other people "knew their place." That's what MAGA refers to, after all.
Someone commented on your original story that stereotypes were also generalizations and that was why they shouldn't be made, but there is a difference between an untrue generalization/stereotype such as that black people are inherently lazy and a true generalization such as that men raping women is a concerning problem, even if it is only a comparatively small number of men who are doing this. If 90% of rapes are perpetrated by men, and 1 in 6 women will be raped, it is a useful and accurate generalization that men raping women is a problem in our society.
Just keep on doing what you are doing, and to hell with the haters. The fact that they are trying to shut you up says a lot about the importance of what you are saying.
