Einstein said that “The measure of intelligence is the ability to change.” Sadly, so many human beings, particularly those on the interwebs, when faced with a perspective that is new or different from theirs, have no interest in engaging with it, learning more, finding out if there is something there to take away and add to their knowledge base. They just want to dig into what they already know or believe and revert to dominance posturing; to telling someone else how stupid and useless they are. Perhaps it makes them feel better for a few minutes, but it seems to me a singularly miserable and boring way to go through life.
