Except that isn't what the women I know who voted for Trump think or believe and it's not why they voted for him. It's also not what the 10 gay couples Jen knows who voted for Trump believe. Clinging to that narrative doesn't shed any light on what actually happened here because it's reductive and unnuanced. It feels cathartic, but it doesn't offer the information that's useful for preventing something like this in the future.
