Except that they aren't "acting like men" - they are acting like the aggressive, dominating, women-controlling a-holes that patriarchy in this time period in Anglo/American cultures has told them they need to be. This shit is driving violence against both men and women (and others) in a way that is not "natural" but nobody in this culture seems to understand what social dynamics are and how we are influenced by those. Boys don't have the first notion of how they overly self-identify with patriarchal norms (and think that is masculinity) because they've been taught to take their self-esteem from how well they play that game. But that's all it is - a made up game. We need to be teaching all kids to "look behind the curtain" and notice the actual dynamics taking place in our society so they can have some chance of actually becoming an individual (not just having the pretense of individuality), and actually have some chance at improving our culture -for everyone's sake.

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint. I do not feel ashamed. I'm your hell, I'm your dream, I'm nothing in between.
