"Eye candy" is not a pejorative in the way that "sex pot" is. One implies that the person is pleasing to look at. The other implies a social unacceptable woman, because in this culture women are not allowed to own or enjoy their sexuality - it has to be for the benefit of men, and really for one man - her husband. If she's enjoying her sexuality for herself or flaunting it in such a way that appeals to men at large, she is a slut, a "sex pot." Because women being sexy is demanded but women being sexual is unacceptable and therefore given judgmental and pejorative names.

Catcalling is a way of affirming that women exist in the world for the pleasure of the men around them. A woman on the street is a public commodity, to be commented upon and scrutinized. Does she measure up to desirability standards that are gratifying to men?"
