First of all, I didn't portray it as a "fun" place. In fact, in this story I point out that there was undoubtedly a lot of rigid social control that made it probably not a very fun place.
Also, egalitarianism and punishment of those who broke the rules are hardly incompatible, particularly when social cohesion and the peace of a 10,000 person leaderless enclave is maintained through strict norms and rules. The bodies of 23 people over the course of 1,500 years is hardly an indicator of widespread violence (except as a form of punishment).
The fact that you persistently refuse to understand the difference between egalitarianism and Utopia because it's suits your own snarky needs is both disingenuous and a little pathetic. If you can't make your point without misrepresenting the facts and mischaracterizing what the other person has said, it doesn't seem like you have much of a flipper to stand on. These days I tend to block people who can't debate in good faith. Good thing I have a perverse kind of affection for you.
