Frankly, I don't really care what you think. Men routinely introduce tertiary topics into discussions as a way to deflect from the original story because they can't actually refute the main premise, but they also can't stand to let a woman "win." I find it both offensive and in need of being called out when it takes place. If you object, too bad.
If you have a different perspective about something that is on-point and you can support it with something other than your "I just know" opinion, feel free, but don't fucking talk to me about what other people believe in. You either interface with the author's points and those of the commenters - not what random other feminists or whoever think - or you shut up. I'm not responsible for their beliefs and it is lazy and again, a sort of deflection, to bring that into the conversation.
