From what I’ve learned in some of the research I’ve done for stories this year is that many women disconnect from their sexual selves when they aren’t getting the kind of sex that they really want. That’s why we tend to think that women have lower libidos than men — it’s that they are actually kind of bored and unfulfilled so they shut down. I’m glad that you discovered this part of yourself even though it came about in such an unfortunate way.
