From what I’ve read and heard, monogamy + and poly, although not exactly common, are much more acceptable amongst millennials. I was also under the impression that there’s always been a greater tolerance for open or somewhat open relationships within LGBTQ communities. James Finn, can you weigh in here?
That being said, I do agree that we are still a highly monogamy-oriented society and probably will be for the foreseeable future. This is in part because it’s hard to allow for egalitarian love in the midst of a dominance hierarchy.
