"Gone too far" is usually code for "I feel my unearned privileges being eroded" - something for which I have no sympathy. There's rarely any substance used to support it because the facts simply aren't on their side. If somebody really believes in unearned advantages that come at other people's expense, they should at least be open about the fact that this is what they are supporting.
