Good lord, yes! My husband and I just celebrated 31 years together and it's been hard a lot of the time. It's also been fun and joyful a lot of the time, but it's work. Staying with someone a very long time, even if you love them dearly, is incredibly hard. And, making that commitment and doing that level of work is also incredibly rewarding.
