Have I once said "all" about anyone? No, I'm not stupid enough to think that any demographic is a monolith. And if you don't understand how statistics work, that's not my problem. You love to talk about cherry picking but that's exactly what you are doing. "I know of one or two people who don't fit your narrative, so the fact that 60% of the Republican Party thinks abortion should be illegal in all cases is statistically irrelevant." Do you hear how absurd that sounds? And yes, I know that means that 40% don't feel that way although many of that group think it should be illegal in many cases. But if you pay attention to the way that laws are changing around the country, you will notice that impact of that demographic. That's what counts, and overwhelmingly, those people have a hateful and regressive agenda in mind.

And how exactly are the misogynistic feelings of the man who is writing the majority SC opinion not important? That's just an idiotic thing to assert.

So, let's try to stick to reality here, shall we?

"As President Joe Biden and legal commentators pointed out, Alito’s stated reasons for overruling Roe could seemingly be applied to overrule other precedents ranging from Obergefell v. Hodges, which recognized a right to marriage equality, to Lawrence v. Texas, which recognized a fundamental right for intimate relationships between consenting adults including adults of the same sex, to Griswold v. Connecticut, which recognized a fundamental right to contraception."

One of the best ways to look at sociological data is in the larger context of the society. The relevant larger context here is that a certain segment of Americans do not like the way the culture is changing. They do not like that the traditional dominance hierarchy is starting to go by the wayside, and they are doing whatever they can to put a stop to that, including but not limited to, storming the US Capitol. Many of the lead groups which organized that were not just white supremacists, but also male supremacists as well, such as The Proud Boys. They want a "traditional" society where everyone knows their place, including women.

And, as already quoted to you, there are women who are participating in this as well - but they too want to control and police women because this is a "traditional" patriarchal stance although young men from across a wide variety of social and political demographics all identify "controlling women" as a part of what they know is expected of them by this culture in order to be a "real man." That doesn't mean they all buy into that or do it, but even young boys in elementary school understand that is a part of the Man Box paradigm.

And another way we can tell that by looking at the larger sociological picture is to note that as restrictive anti-abortion laws crop up all over the country they are being pushed through state legislatures overwhelmingly by right wing males. And these same men are not also coming up with balancing statutes which do the things that actual make abortions less likely to be necessary. They are not giving away free condoms like they do in Denver, CO - a place where the abortion rate has since plummeted. They are not increasing aid to women and children or doing anything to make potential pregnancies less onerous or dangerous for women.

AND YOU KNOW WHY? Because they don't actually care about babies - they care about controlling and punishing women. The US has the highest maternal and infant mortality rate in the developed world - by a lot!! If these legislators cared about anything other than putting women back into the 1950s, they'd be doing something about that. And you can't refute that, because the facts speak for themselves.

The fact that what is driving these regressive tendencies are right wingers does not mean that all right wingers believe in what they are doing. Duh! No-one said they did. Honestly, you really ought to take a statistics class and learn how this stuff works.

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint. I do not feel ashamed. I'm your hell, I'm your dream, I'm nothing in between.
