Considering that the Firm made his mother's life miserable, and contributed to her death by their hands off approach to her harassment, I can't imagine why anyone would expect him to allow the same for his family. Meanwhile, the Firm is busy taking swipes at him via the tabloids and not even honest enough to speak up directly and take the heat for doing so. Acting like he's betraying some sacred covenant is pretty rich, in the face of all that.
