Here, here! Some parts of India have practiced vegetarianism for thousands of years, but if you were to plunk down an Inuit there and expect them to survive, much less thrive, you’d be sadly mistaken. Different bodies require different things, often based on the historical diets of those regions.
I support continued improvements in animal welfare so that they are not kept in cruel conditions, but unless we figure out a way to clone animal protein, I’m not going to be able to stop eating actual animals. And if we did, what would become of them? Would cows go extinct if they no longer served any useful purpose for humans?
