Here's a great story (that I didn't write) about how to approach a woman in a non-threatening, non-offensive way. The TL:DR of it is when you make it clear that you'd like to get to know her - and do that with no pressure, rather than centering her looks, you are centering her as a whole person and accepting that she has ever right to not wish to reciprocate.
