Here’s the definition of hierarchy again for reference:

A system or organization in which people or groups are ranked one above the other according to status or authority. (emphasis mine)

In other words, it’s a power dynamic. Admiring or valuing someone doesn’t necessarily give them more power, rank, or authority in a systemic or organizational way.
