Holy hell, those stories are disturbing. He left her on the floor to teach her not to be "so dramatic"??? I don't know how I got so fortunate, but this is not how my partner acts at all. But the deep seated belief that women exist to make men's lives better (and not reciprically) needs to keep being challenged because it seems to be alive and well for a lot of people.
