How about fewer movies (and video games) that glorify solving all of your problems with violence? That would be a very good place to start. The Hero almost never uses his brains/tact/empathy to solve the problem. He only shows what a badass he is by beating the shit out of the other guy and then everything turns out for the best. It's a terrible formula that is reiterated time and time again, reinforcing to lost boys everywhere that this is how you become an admirable man.
