How is a merit-based hierarchy bad? How is a hierarchy of actualization bad? You can’t make a blanket statement like that without supporting it in some way. Anarchy is not a viable or sustainable model. Some form of hierarchy is necessary. I used to work for a non-profit that had operated under a hierarchy of actualization. I was a top leader but what the really meant is that I was a lead practitioner and not a manager from afar. It worked very well for many years until people with dominance hierarchy notions got control.
