Humans do not have the ability to smell their best mate. If they did they'd just sniff their best mate and be done with it, but that isn't how it works. People date all sorts of people for years, and if they settle on one, many are still unsure they've found the right person. Also, if this were true, there would be little divorce and almost no birth defects if humans did in fact have this ability.

Humans were biologically "designed" to be multi-maters and it is only through that access to a variety of genetic material that better genetic compatibility can be determined. If humans could smell their best mate, there would be no need for multi-mating and therefore no need for the coronal ridge of the human penis to be shaped the way it is in order to scoop out the genetic material left there by other men, and the cervix wouldn't need to act as a kind of sorter to determine the most compatible and healthiest semen - which it does. Those scientific facts have nothing to do with my social belief system.

You seem to misunderstand the importance of the past 5k years. That's only about 4% of human history, but it is when patriarchy first arose. Ascribing behaviors to Paleolithic times when they actually only arose a few thousand years ago with patriarchy is junk science. For example, talking about men as providers makes no sense if that is something that truly only came about with the Industrial Revolution. In hunter/gatherer bands, gatherers provide the bulk of the daily calories and food sharing is an important survival strategy - so the notion of male "providers" makes no sense.

Certainly some of human behavior is rooted in biology, but not most of it. If it were, then why is there so much variance from culture to culture, and from time period to time period? Even peoples who live quite near each other in the same physical environment often have quite different cultures. How do you explain this?

Unless you can give me an answer that makes sense, I'm done talking about this with you.

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint. I do not feel ashamed. I'm your hell, I'm your dream, I'm nothing in between.
