I agree! My life got demonstrably better after 40 and there was a further bump of satisfaction at 50. A lot of this had to do with uncoupling from societal expectations and creating my own metrics of what success and fulfillment look like.

Such a shame that such a promising young women bought into messaging about your life having to look a certain way by a certain point and that the narrative of the strong black woman negatively impacts so many.
