I agree on both fronts. It seems silly that it results in the kinds of things American parents say they want, such as fewer hook-up relationship, less unwanted pregnancy and abortion, greater mutual respect around sex - and yet, they don't want to do the things that would actually result in that. And responsible comprehensive sex education does feel even further away than it used to.
