I agree that many individuals are embracing more partnership-oriented ways of living, but the fact of the matter is, our culture (and the economic system that goes with it) are still very firmly entrenched in the old ways. Just read the news or the internet and you can see how deeply ingrained it is that we can't both win - "someone has to lose, and it's sure not going to be me."

That doesn't mean it can't change, and I sure hope that it does. The shifts in business towards this model because it's so much more agile are very heartening. I write about this because I want to encourage more of the same.
